How do I initiate a drug or alcohol intervention?

A drug or alcohol intervention is often used when an individual has a drug or alcohol problem but is unable to admit to it. Family members, friends and co-workers clearly see the destructive path that addiction is taking, but feel as if they can do nothing. Initiating an intervention is what they can do. In order to initiate an intervention, all it takes is one phone call to an intervention specialist. A certified specialist will have the knowledge and experience necessary to make you and your family feel at ease with the process.

This process can include contacting potential participants, usually friends and family and educating them on their role in the process. Transportation and other details can also be handled by the intervention specialist and his or her team. By making the phone call, the initial consultation can begin and hope can be restored.
