Will my loved one have to go to treatment?

Before the intervention takes place family members and the intervention specialist will discuss possible outcomes. In addition the family will also let the specialist know their specific wants. Because interventions usually take place because an individual is unwilling to seek help, an intervention is a beginning, but not enough to keep an individual away from drugs and alcohol. There are many different treatment options and the specialist works with the family to find out what will be the most effective for them and the individual. If the family wants the individual to go to treatment but still has concerns about safety and other issues, they can be reassured by knowing the specialist will be very involved throughout the whole process.
