What type of treatment follows an intervention?

There are many different types of treatment programs that can follow and intervention. Depending on the addict's life circumstances (i.e. marital status, responsibilities, job, etc) the least intrusive plan of treatment will be taken, unless severe circumstances warrant otherwise. After an intervention has taken place the individual usually undergoes a medical detox to cleanse the body of all substances. Once physical sobriety has been achieved then the recovery process can begin. Post-detox drug treatment center options include short-term outpatient, long-term outpatient, short-term inpatient, long-term inpatient, and long term residential.
